Carne asada and pollo asado burritos were great. Friendly staff and quick service. We'll be happy to grab food here again.

California Burritos has a huge menu with great prices. We chose this place because it had good reviews and it did not disappoint. The young lady who took our order was pleasantly polite and friendly. Even though they were very busy our order came out rather quickly. There is limited seating inside the restaurant and they have four tables outside. We ordered taquitos, a taco, carne asada burrito and chips and salsa, everything was excellent. We don't live in San Diego but we will definitely patronize this establishment should we be in the area again.

This is one of those places that are on the list of must-haves when friends come back to visit. It's a no-frills taco shop with friendly quick service and bomb food. I look forward to it myself, when I know I'm approaching a 'treat yourself' day. My usual go-to's are the surf & turf burrito (sub lengua), shrimp burrito, and mini breakfast burritos. The mini breakfast burritos are still a generous size for $6. I love picking one up when I'm about to pick up a friend from the airport and know we won't be grabbing food right away. It's the perfect 'welcome to SD' fix until they get their actual California burrito from here. While this place isn't 24 hours or open late into the wee hours of the night, it might be doing us a solid, because you betcha, I'd have myself a burrito belly. With that said, they have appropriate operating hours. If you already know what you're going to order, I'd call in and place the order for pickup. They're very fast and always on it, with including your preferred salsa and being ready for you to grab and go. Check it out; you won't be disappointed!

My husband has been wanting to come here for a while... and we were in the area and decided to give it a try! We are so happy we did! Pretty easy to find, parking is good. Menu is pretty straightforward. Lots and lots of options! I love lots of options, but we came for the California burrito and carne asada! Taco shop vibes. Some stools inside and a few tables outside. Lots of people coming and going. Looked super popular with the locals. Staff was super nice! One of the guys chatted with us for a bit, offered the different salsas to us and wanted to know how we liked our food. The food we ordered was delicious! We ordered a California burrito, carne asada fries and a bean and cheese burrito! Salsas were yummy too! We originally ordered to go and there were a few bags of chips in our bag. A great lunch and a good price point! Will definitely come back!

I have been so pleasantly surprised by this place! Granted, I've only ever ordered their breakfast burritos, but wow are they good breakfast burritos. I also love that they have "mini" breakfast burrito options that are the perfect size and super affordable at only $6. I have ordered from here a few times and am always impressed by the service. Very friendly and quick, even for the large orders I've placed for work. Sort of a random location but definitely worth the visit. I need to try some other menu items now!

Picked up some burritos to go on my way to SD zoo and this did not disappoint. The tortilla had something special about the taste and the beans tasted so delicious and fresh. I mixed the red and green sauce together and it added so much flavor. I'm always a fan of the green sauce but this red sauce tasted different than the normal ones you would typically get at restaurants like this. It had a really good kick to it that made the flavor burst together really well. Also I forgot to mention the size of a regular burrito is HUGE! You definitely get bang for your buck. I got my daughter a mini and they're honestly a normal sized burrito so that's a major plus! I will definitely come back here next time I'm on vacay here!

My life would be so much better if this place was in SF. It is probably the second best california burrito ive ever had. My best place is somewhere in northern SD and i forgot its name. The price was so good, unbelievably cheap. Their chimichanga was also good, and next time ill ask to add fries and no beans (sounds like a health choice huh)

Got my California burrito fix here and it was great! Ordered pick up via Yelp app seamlessly. Located right off the 5 freeway next to 7-11. Not hard to find but not a lot of parking, and limited seating which could mean trouble on busier days. I arrived Sunday evening and parking was still snug. Burrito was large and packed with all the typical ingredients. Fresh! Fries were crispy on the outside and ends, soft inside. Meat was tender and without weird bits. From the first bite to the last, there was an even amount of ingredients. The aroma of the tortilla alone was tantalizing. No random mouthfuls of sour cream or end full of fries. Even throughout and wrapped tightly. Driver dining friendly ;) Highly recommend this cozy local Mexican restaurant.

As soon we touched down in SD, we were starving. I really wanted carne asada fries so we decided to come here and we ended up getting the fries and chicken burrito. It was so good. The portions were HUGEEEEEE! I only ate 1/5th of the fries and I was so full. They didn't skimp on anything, they layered the cheese throughout. My hubs said the burrito was really good too and it was so big that he couldn't finish it. Our total was around $25. The whole process from ordering to picking up was maybe 15 min. I would have given 5 stars but we couldn't preorder because their phones weren't working; therefore, 4 stars. But would I recommend? 100%. This might be our go-to spot every time we come to SD.
